Privacy Policy
Effective September 28, 2026. Applies to craftonpress.com, our forms, our checkout, and the emails and text messages we send.
Crafton Press, LLC ("Crafton Press," "we," "us") is a small publishing house in Lee's Summit, Missouri. We collect only the information we need to answer you, produce your book, get paid, and let the right pastors know we exist. We don't sell your information to anyone. This page explains what we collect, why, who touches it, and what you can do about it.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details when you fill out a form, book a call, refer a pastor, or buy something: name, email address, phone number, church or organization name, and anything you write in a message box.
- Project material you send for a Sample Chapter or book: links to sermons or podcasts, audio and video files, notes, slides, documents, and photos. See section 5.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details directly; we see your name, email, the amount, the last four digits of the card, and whether the payment succeeded. We never see or store your full card number.
- Booking details when you schedule a call: the time you picked, your time zone, and any notes you add.
- Referral details when you refer a pastor: the pastor's name and email, and your name.
Information collected automatically
- Server and hosting logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time of request) kept by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting.
- Email and text engagement such as whether an email was opened or a link clicked, which our customer relationship system records.
- Analytics and advertising identifiers set by the tools described in section 6.
2. How we use it
- To respond to your request, produce your Sample Chapter or book, and deliver what you paid for.
- To send you transactional messages about your project: confirmations, "your chapter is ready," questions from your editor, appointment reminders.
- To send you Crafton Press news and offers only if you've asked for them. You can stop those at any time.
- To send a referred pastor one email in the referrer's name, and nothing further unless the pastor responds.
- To process payments, keep accounting records, and meet our tax and legal obligations.
- To keep the site and our systems secure and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To measure and target our own advertising, as described in section 6, so that pastors who have shown interest in Crafton Press see our ads rather than strangers seeing them.
We don't sell your information. We don't build advertising profiles about you for anyone else's use, and nothing in section 6 involves handing your details to a data broker.
3. Text messages and your phone number
If you give us your mobile number and opt in to text messages (by checking the SMS consent box on one of our forms or checkout pages, or by texting us first), we'll use it to text you about your project, appointment reminders, replies to your questions, and, if you've asked for them, occasional Crafton Press updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number and your SMS opt-in consent are not sold, rented, or shared with anyone for their own use. The only parties that handle your number are the service providers who deliver messages on our behalf (our customer relationship platform and its messaging carrier), and they may use it only to deliver our messages.
Text messaging consent is not a condition of purchasing anything from Crafton Press. Full program terms are in section 10 of our Terms and Conditions, and the program is described in plain language at craftonpress.com/sms.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers we need to run Crafton Press, and only for the purpose of doing that work for us:
- Customer relationship and messaging platform (HighLevel / LeadConnector) to store contacts, send emails and texts, and run our booking calendar and forms.
- Payment processor (Stripe) to take payments.
- Scheduling software to book calls.
- Website hosting and DNS (DigitalOcean) and email and file storage (Microsoft 365) for our own business operations.
- Transcription and AI-assisted tools used in producing your book, as described in section 5.
- Amazon KDP when your book is published, using the account set up in your name.
- Advertising platforms (Meta, which runs Facebook and Instagram, and Google) so we can show and measure our own ads. What we share with them, and how to opt out, is described in section 6.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business (in which case this policy would still apply to your information). We don't sell personal information and we don't share it with data brokers. We do share limited information with the advertising platforms named above, but only so they can show our own ads to the right people and tell us whether those ads worked. They are not permitted to use it for anyone else's advertising.
5. Your sermons and manuscripts
The material you send us is yours. We use it only to produce your book and the related deliverables. In the course of that work we may transcribe recordings and use AI-assisted tools for transcription, analysis, and drafting under the direction of a human editor; we choose tools whose terms don't allow them to train on your content, and your material is never published or shared outside the project without your approval. Draft manuscripts and final files are stored in our private, access-controlled cloud storage. Names and stories about third parties that appear in your material are handled according to your instructions and our Terms.
6. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
We use a small number of measurement and advertising tools on craftonpress.com. They are loaded through Google Tag Manager, and they set cookies or read device identifiers in your browser.
- Google Analytics tells us how many people visit, which pages they read, and where they came from. We use it to improve the site, not to identify you personally.
- The Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram) and Google Ads tags tell us whether someone who saw one of our ads later visited the site or asked for a Sample Chapter, and allow us to show our ads again to people who have already visited. This is commonly called retargeting.
Custom audiences. We may give Meta or Google a list of email addresses of people already in our contact records so that our ads reach them rather than strangers. The addresses are converted into a scrambled, irreversible form (hashed) before they are sent, the platform uses them only to match against its own users and then discards the unmatched ones, and neither platform is permitted to use that list for any advertiser other than us. We do not include mobile phone numbers in these lists. Your phone number is used only as described in section 3.
What we do not do. We don't sell your information. We don't let these platforms use what they learn from our site to advertise on behalf of anyone else. We don't put advertising tags on the pages where you send us a sermon, a manuscript, or payment details beyond knowing that the step was completed, and the content of your material is never shared with an advertising platform.
How to opt out. Any of these will work, and the site still functions with all of them in place:
- Block or clear cookies in your browser, or use private browsing.
- Turn on Do Not Track or a tracking-blocker extension. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where your browser sends them.
- Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Adjust your Google Ad Settings or your Meta ad preferences.
- Email [email protected] and ask to be excluded from our advertising audiences. We'll remove you and confirm.
7. How long we keep it
- Contact and project records: for as long as you're a client or prospect and for seven years after our last transaction, for accounting and legal reasons.
- Project material and manuscripts: for the life of the project and up to two years afterward so we can produce updated editions on request, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- SMS consent records: for as long as required by carrier and regulatory rules, so we can prove you opted in.
- Referral emails: if the referred pastor doesn't respond, we keep only the record that the email was sent.
8. Your choices and rights
- Email: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Transactional emails about a paid project continue until it's done.
- Text messages: reply STOP.
- Access, correction, deletion: email [email protected] and we'll show you what we have, fix it, or delete it, subject to records we're required to keep. We'll respond within 30 days.
- Advertising: to stop seeing our ads or be removed from our advertising audiences, use any of the options in section 6, or just email us and ask.
- Do not sell: we don't sell personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of. Residents of states with privacy laws (such as California, Colorado, Virginia, and others) may exercise the rights above by email and won't be treated differently for doing so.
9. Security
We use reputable providers with encryption in transit and at rest, limit access to the people who need it, and use multi-factor authentication on our accounts. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
10. Children
Our services are for adults and organizations. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
11. Changes and contact
We'll update this policy as our tools and practices change and will post the new effective date at the top. Material changes will be announced by email to active clients.
