Refund Policy

We'd rather earn your trust than argue about a refund. This page says plainly when you get your money back and when you don't, so there are no surprises.

The Sample Chapter ($97 through December 31, 2026; $197 after)

• Before we start: full refund, no questions. Email [email protected] any time before we've begun working on your material.
• If we can't work with what you sent: full refund. If the link is broken or private and you can't supply another, or the audio is too poor to transcribe, we'll tell you within two business days of receiving it and refund you in full. You can also send a different message instead.
• Once work has begun: the Sample Chapter is not refundable, because the editor's time has been spent. What you paid is credited in full toward any book package you commission within 60 days, whether or not you were happy with the chapter. If the chapter misses the mark, tell us on the Chapter Review call and we'll do one revision pass at no charge.
• If we miss our seven-day target by more than seven additional days for reasons on our side (not waiting on material or a reply from you), you may ask for a full refund and keep the chapter when it arrives.

Book packages (Pocket, Series, Full)

Book packages are paid in milestones set out in your proposal. Refunds follow the milestones.

• Deposit: refundable in full if you cancel before we've held the first Story Session or begun drafting, whichever comes first. After that, the deposit covers work already done and is not refundable.
• Cancelling mid-project: you can cancel at any time by email. You pay for every milestone that has been delivered and for the milestone in progress, prorated by the work completed on it. Any payment you've made beyond that is refunded within 14 days. You keep every deliverable you've paid for, including drafts, and you can publish them yourself or with someone else.
• If we cancel: if we end the project for a reason on our side (we're unable to complete it), you receive a full refund of any milestone not delivered and you keep all completed work. If we end it because your material turned out to infringe someone's rights or a promise in section 4 of the Terms wasn't true, completed milestones are not refunded.
• After publication: once the book is live on Amazon, the project is complete and no refund applies. Corrections to typos or layout errors that are our fault are fixed free for 90 days after publication.

Revisions are not refunds

Every package includes revision rounds, listed in your proposal. If a draft doesn't sound like you, that's what revisions are for, and we'd rather fix it than refund it. Refund requests based on the book's sales, reviews, or reception can't be accepted; we promise the book, not the market.

How to ask

Email [email protected] from the address on your order with the word "refund" in the subject. We'll confirm within two business days and, where a refund is due, send it to the original payment method within 14 days. Stripe processing times may add a few days before it shows on your statement.

Chargebacks

Please contact us before disputing a charge with your card issuer. A chargeback filed without contacting us first pauses your project until it's resolved.
